Jean began performing at 13 with the “Suffolk Tiny Tots” in Ipswich pantomimes. They trained at Italia Conti and spent two years at the Royal Opera House as a Ragadaccio in La Bohème.

Her career includes repertory seasons in Leicester, Colchester, Ipswich and Hornchurch, plus tours of Mr Kettle and Mrs Moon, Oliver, Compo Plays Cupid and Verdict.

Television work includes Emergency – Ward Ten, Z Cars, The Bill, Softly Softly, Doomwatch, The Flipside of Dominic Hide, Another Flip for Dominic, Doctors, Casualty and This Country.

She considers joining the co‑operative agency Ana in 1990 a highlight, valuing the collaborative casting process and the joy of calling actors with good news, especially if she'd be the one who suggested them!
