More graft than glamour, more community than curtain call, David is a proud Geordie with theatre in his veins. Warm, straight‑talking and quick with a bit of Northern wit, he’s as at home in the foyer as he is centre stage.

After training at Italia Conti and learning every corner of the business, he came back to the North East to build a theatre for his community — not just a venue, but a place where kids take their first bow, adults find their voice and audiences feel they belong.

He believes theatre should have its sleeves rolled up: kettle on, everyone mucking in. Hands‑on and big‑hearted, he’s happiest when the lights dim and that familiar hush settles. If there’s a problem, he’ll fix it. If there’s a dream, he’ll back it.

Think less impresario, more instigator. Less “luvvie”, more “let’s get it done”.
